graduation

W graduated from Preschool on Thursday, May 30th. 

(it was a bit anticlimactic, since he will be at Carriage House all summer - 

I think it will hit use more when he goes off to school in the fall)

The teachers gave out certificates, took class photos and had a potluck.  We were not able to stay until the end because it also was the first day of t-ball.  It kind of sucked, but I guess this is just the beginning of scheduling conflicts.  I can't wait until Zeph starts sports!

It was fun to see all of the photos from over the past five years that W has been at Carriage House.  I will try to scan them in and post on the blog.

zeph's allergies

Zeph went to his first allergy doctor visit this week, it went better than expected.  W had just had an appointment earlier in the month, so Zeph had been to the office prior to his visit.  We were going to try and wait until he was two for his prick test, but decided we couldn't wait any longer.  He has had a running nose for the last year and we really wanted to get to the bottom of it.  Turns out, he is only allergic to cats.  Which is great.  We thought he was going to be allergic to a lot more.  Dr. Avner told us (again) that we are not born with allergies, but with the genetic predisposition of allergies.  So, it's odd that Z has a cat allergy, since we don't have one and he has not had any contact with cats.  We also found out that Z has a 50% chance of having asthma, awesome.  The prick test did not give us an answer as to why his nose runs so much, but we did get a prescription nasal spray that seems to be working.  

Zeph waiting out the prick test.  He did really good during this part, not so good during his histamine test.  They did that test on his arm, it itched and I had to hold his arm so he could not scratch it.  It was hard to watch.

The test is over!  Zeph's back looks way better than W's did.

Today happened to be Town Clean Up Day, so while hiking Iowa Hill (which is a town trail) we picked up trash.  It was a little sad how much trash we really did find.  Per W's suggestion, we will be bringing a bag on every hike we do this summer.

mother's day weekend

Mother's Day was a weekend affair for us.  

C and I saw Jay Mohr at Comedy Works at the Landmark on Friday night (thanks to G-ma & G-pa Shotts for babysitting the boys!).  We went to breakfast at Toast on Saturday and Clements Park.  The weather was beautiful.

After breakfast we walked to town to have lunch at Fatty's.  

The weather was not as warm as the front range, but at least it didn't snow.

W has started to become very interested in taking photos.  

I gave him my phone one day as we left the grocery store.  He took photos from the time we left until we got home (which is really not that far).  

C and I really enjoyed looking at his photos, so I thought I would share.
