We went pumpkin hunting at a new field this year. The Crazed Corn Field Maze was interesting. It's set up in a dirt lot next to a corn field in the middle of nowhere. There were tons of pumpkins & gourds to choose from (for cheap) along with a 20 acre crazy corn maze (not so cheap) and a bunch of other kid activities. After carefully picking out our pumpkins, W really wanted to check out the maze. As we approached the corn maze, we encountered the Maze Keeper. After sizing us up, he informed us it would most likely take us about an hour to complete the maze. You might ask "why would it take an hour or more to get through a corn maze?" You don't just wander through the Crazed Corn Field Maze, it's more of a game of hide and seek. They hid 18 (maybe 20) posts through out the maze with a different Halloween shape for you to trace on your paper. If you choose to hunt down each of these posts, it will take you at least an hour, with little kids and help from other lost maze goers. When you emerge from the maze with your completed paper, the Maze Keeper gives you a gourd. So, not worth the gourd, but well worth the fun the kids had. A couple of suggestions before you enter, go pee and bring a bottle of water.
Zeph loves to do whatever W does.
Sweet wagons for hauling pumpkins.
Early in our journey through the corn maze.
